I’ve spotted a lot of fashion inspirations during one of the biggest and most anticipated fashion events of the year – the MET Gala – and apart from the fascinating costumes, manty of the hairstyles also stood out. Crimped, wavy hairstyles were a constant look and if you’re wondering how to make it wearable, here are 15 ways to do it!

  • Long bob with fringe
  • Wet look crimped waves
  • Crimped waves with curled bangs
  • Poufy updo with crimped fringe
  • Blunt bob with subtle crimped waves
  • Statement hair clips

Using a big hair crimper, just go over your entire hair and brush it with your fingers for a natural effect! Parting your hair in the middle can help even out volume, which is also ideal for those with thick hair.

Tousled waves with side braid

This look is perfect if you’d like to give your style a bit of more edge – street-style way! The side braid will add uniqueness to the hairstyle while the rest of the hair flaunts its naturally messy waves.

Long bob with fringe

Crimped wavy hair can look very good with a long bob for it’s not too short nor too long, and therefore flattering for most face shapes. The fringe adds framing to your face to make it look slimmer.

Wet look crimped waves

The “wet look” hair trend remains very stylish and this can also go really well with messy crimped hair. The sheen will give you that statement luster while the small crimps will significantly add volume to your look.

Crimped waves with curled bangs

If you’re rocking a short bob with full bangs, I’d say go all-in with crimping your hair for that gorgeous volume and vintage-style look. This will give you that unique look, perfect for ladies who love short hairstyles.

Poufy updo with crimped fringe

May it be a headband or a head scarf, this hairstyle will go so well with your favorite hair accessory! The key is to work around your wavy hair and keep the updo poufy, then take sections of hair from the sides of your face and crimp them for that nice framing effect.

Blunt bob with subtle crimped waves

If you’re not into obviously coiled crimps and you’d like to keep it subtle, then a blunt bob featuring subtle crimped waves is a good choice. It’s effortless but also very chic and flattering whatever your face shape is.

Statement hair clips

Statement hair clips have been such a huge trend in the fashion scene in recent years and using them to accessorize your crimped waves will add more drama to your look. Choose a mix of small and big clips with bold designs for that head turning look!

Wavy balayage with full fringe

A fancy way to play around your crimped wavy hairstyle is to work with color, like the stunning gradient effect of a balayage. The effect of having dark and light colors in your hair weave into the waves will add more depth to your look.

Ombre waves tucked behind ears

Whether you go to the salon to get an ombre hair dye or just let your dark roots naturally grow, a wavy hairstyle would make it look more stylish! Tuck your hair behind your ear if you’d like to put focus on your face rather than your hair alone.

Layered subtle crimped waves

Crimped waves also work seamlessly for those who already don a layered haircut. This will make the waves cascade naturally and therefore add significant volume to your hair.

Teased brushed back waves

Ready to channel your inner rockstar? Go for the classic way of teasing the hair to create more volume for your waves, then brush it back and secure it with wax or pomade for that edgy look.

Old Hollywood style crimped waves

The classic vintage look of bigger crimped waves (which were also known as finger waves back in the day), can definitely be a stunner! It’s an easy hairstyle to achieve and it can be a great choice for dressier occasions.

Bouncy long waves with highlights

Going for bouncy long waves is a dreamy look especially for those with long hair. To add visual interest and depth to the hairstyle, going for highlights can also be a fashionable choice.
