Weekends are for relaxing, recharging, and if you’re like me, a bit of errand-running, brunching, and spending time outdoors. While I love an excuse to dress up, I spend most of my weekends in easy, casual outfits that still make me feel put together.

As someone who’s 5’2”, I’m always thinking about proportions when I get dressed—especially with casual outfits. It’s amazing how just the right crop of a sweater or a good belt can completely change the vibe (and make your legs look longer!). Today I’m sharing 7 casual weekend outfits that I’ve been loving lately. These are all petite-friendly, comfortable, and totally wearable for whatever your weekend plans may be.

Table of Contents

  • Crew-neck Sweater + Light-washed Jeans
  • Off-the-shoulder Dress + Minimalist Heels
  • Midi Dress + Peep-toe Heels
  • Turtleneck Sweater + Rinse-washed Jeans
  • Striped Shirt + High-rise Jeans
  • Monochromatic Black Outfit
  • Striped Cardigan + Light-washed Jeans

Crew-neck Sweater + Light-washed Jeans

Sweater S | Jeans 26 | Bag | Shoes

This combo has been my go-to for weekend coffee runs or meetups with friends. I wear an ivory crew-neck sweater with the sleeves casually rolled up, light-washed jeans, a slim brown leather belt, and neutral block heels. It’s classic and effortless, but still looks pulled together.

The soft contrast between the ivory and denim feels fresh for spring, and the belt helps define the waist and create shape. I also love how the rolled sleeves give it a relaxed, laid-back feel—perfect for low-key plans.

Off-the-shoulder Dress + Minimalist Heels

Dress S | Bag | Sandals

If the weather is warm, nothing feels easier than throwing on a pretty dress. This off-the-shoulder eyelet midi dress is one of my weekend favorites. It’s feminine without being too fussy, and the midi length works really well on my petite frame when paired with minimalist strappy heels.

I love this for brunch or weekend get-togethers that might lead into a casual evening out. The off-the-shoulder detail adds just enough of a dressy touch, but I can still move around comfortably.

Midi Dress + Peep-toe Heels

Dress S | Bag | Mules

Another weekend dress option I love: a square neck sleeveless midi dress with a pair of skin-tone peep-toe heels. This dress has a slightly structured shape that feels a little more elevated, so it’s great for when I want to feel a bit more polished with minimal effort.

The square neckline is one of my favorites—it frames the shoulders and elongates the neck (bonus points if you’re petite like me). I keep accessories simple and let the clean lines of the dress do the work.

Turtleneck Sweater + Rinse-washed Jeans

Sweater S | Jeans 26 | Bag | Boots

For cooler days, I reach for a short sleeve turtleneck sweater with button-fly rinse-washed jeans and ankle boots. I usually carry a structured leather tote with this outfit—it ties everything together and makes it easy to carry weekend essentials.

This outfit feels cozy without being bulky, and the button-fly detail adds a nice visual touch to the denim. I love how this combination balances warmth and style—ideal for running errands or grabbing a casual lunch on a chilly day.

Striped Shirt + High-rise Jeans

Shirt S | Sweater S | Jeans 26 | Bag | Shoes

This look is perfect for when I want to feel a little extra put together but still casual. I layer a striped button-down shirt with a lightweight sweater tied over my shoulders, then add high-rise jeans and a pair of block heels.

The sweater-as-a-scarf trick instantly adds polish and a preppy vibe, and it’s a great way to stay prepared for a chilly breeze without fully committing to layering. It’s comfortable, classic, and works for anything from a bookstore stop to an early dinner date.

Monochromatic Black Outfit

Top S | Pants S | Bag | Sandals

On days when I want to feel a little more elevated—even if I’m just out running around—I reach for a monochromatic black outfit. I style a black sweater with an asymmetrical neckline and pair it with belted flare pants and a black leather belt with a gold buckle.

This outfit has a bit more edge, but it’s still incredibly wearable. The asymmetrical neckline adds interest without needing a ton of accessories, and the flare pants with heels really lengthen the legs. It’s proof that all-black doesn’t have to feel basic.

Striped Cardigan + Light-washed Jeans

Cardigan S | Top S | Jeans 26 | Bag | Shoes

Last but not least, I love a striped cardigan paired with light-washed jeans and white slingback heels. This outfit feels soft, comfy, and totally weekend-appropriate. The cardigan gives cozy vibes while still looking neat and polished.

I usually wear the cardigan buttoned like a top, French tucked into the jeans to define the waist. It’s the kind of outfit that’s great for anything from grocery runs to casual coffee dates.

Dressing for the weekend doesn’t have to be complicated. These outfits are all about comfort, ease, and a few little styling details that make a big difference—like a good tuck, a well-placed belt, or a flattering neckline.

If you’re petite like me, the key is all in the proportions. High-rise bottoms, slightly cropped or tucked-in tops, and skin-tone or low-contrast shoes are all little tweaks that help balance everything out. And honestly, having a few go-to outfits in your back pocket makes weekends feel that much more enjoyable.
